The Joint Master Programme in Marine Biotechnology JMPMB is an international two-year 120 ECTS Master of Science designed to educate future experts in marine biotechnology also known as blue biotechnology.
Delivered through the EU-CONEXUS European University Alliance, the programme integrates interdisciplinary training in marine genetics, biomolecule discovery, aquaculture innovation and bioproduct development with mobility across partner universities in Europe. It prepares students for both research-driven careers and applied professional roles across health, agri-food, aquaculture and bioresource sectors.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree minimum 180 ECTS in natural sciences, engineering, agriculture, biotechnology or a related field
- Degree must provide access to postgraduate studies and be recognised by partner universities
- English language proficiency at least CEFR B2 or IELTS 6.5 or equivalent
- Demonstrated motivation for marine biotechnology specialisation

Funding and Tuition
Tuition fees are set at €5000 per year for EU nationals and €9000 per year for non-EU nationals.
Selected outstanding candidates may receive full tuition fee waivers. In recent calls up to 15 such waivers were available. Living costs, travel and other expenses are generally the responsibility of the student unless additional support is confirmed for a future cycle.
The programme has previously operated with Erasmus Mundus scholarships. For current and upcoming intakes, confirm the exact financial package on the official site, as full living stipends are not guaranteed in every call.
